Elasmobranchii
Elasmobranchii is a group of aquatic vertebrates that includes sharks, rays and skates. They are important in marine ecosystems as they are apex predators and play an important role in regulating fish populations. Elasmobranchs are also prized by many people for their meat, skin and liver oil, making them valuable resources for commercial fisheries. As a result of overfishing, some species of Elasmobranchii are now endangered. Therefore, it is important for us to understand the biology of these animals and work to conserve their populations. This knowledge can also help us develop new fishing practices that protect these animals and ensure sustainable fisheries in the future.
