Coastal Regions

Coastal regions are areas of land bordered by the sea and are often responsible for a large portion of a country's economic activity. They provide important habitats for a variety of species and form an important part of the world's coastal ecosystems. Coastal regions are also a source of seafood and other natural resources, as well as providing recreational opportunities, such as swimming, fishing, and surfing. They are particularly vulnerable to climate-related disasters such as floods, storms, and sea level rise, making the protection of these areas a pressing issue. As coastal regions become more populated, their protection and the management of their resources become even more challenging. By safeguarding these areas, it is possible to protect and sustain them for future generations.
