Aquatic Animals

Aquatic animals are animals that live in a watery environment, such as oceans, lakes, rivers and streams. They play an essential role in the web of life, forming the base of the food web, providing food and habitat for other species and clearing the environment of waste. Aquatic animals are important to human life as they provide food, recreation and income. They are also important for the health of our aquatic ecosystems and are commonly used in research.
