Overview
Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries as it moves through your body. When your blood pressure is too high, it is called hypertension. Hypertension increases the risk of stroke, heart attack, heart failure, and kidney failure. Taking steps to lower your blood pressure, such as eating a healthy diet, exercising, and taking medication, can reduce this risk. High blood pressure can also cause headaches, fatigue, and chest pain. Thus, the significance of monitoring and controlling high blood pressure is paramount to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
