Copd
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a serious, long-term lung condition which affects millions of people worldwide. It causes inflammation and narrowing of the airways, leading to breathlessness, chest infections, fatigue and, in serious cases, life-threatening complications. COPD can be managed, but is progressive and can worsen over time. Early diagnosis is key to effective treatment, with the goal of reducing the impact of COPD on a person's quality of life. These treatments may include lifestyle changes, medications, oxygen therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation and surgery. COPD is a challenging disease to manage, and can significantly impact a person's daily life, but with the correct treatment it is possible to improve symptoms and slow the progression of the condition.
