Sexually Transmitted Infections in Men
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are infections caused by bacteria, viruses, and parasites that are spread through sexual contact. STIs in men can cause a variety of health problems, including inflammation of the genitals and pelvic area, infertility, and even, in rare cases, death. Early diagnosis and treatment of STIs can reduce the risk of serious health effects, including HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Regular testing and preventive behaviors, such as using condoms and limiting one’s number of sexual partners, are the best ways to protect against STIs and their complications.
