Sexual Transmission of Infections
Sexual transmission of infections is a process through which certain infections and diseases can be passed from one person to another through sexual activity. Examples of infections that can be passed through sexual contact include HIV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, and HPV. The risk of infection can be reduced through the use of barrier protection such as condoms and the practice of regular testing for certain infections. Sexual Transmission of infections can have a significant impact on an individual’s physical and mental health and there is an ever-growing need for education and prevention strategies to reduce the risks associated with these infections.
