Sexual Disorders
Sexual disorders are a group of conditions that involve an impairment in the ability to experience or express sexual desire or arousal. They can significantly impact quality of life, leading to decreased intimacy and leaving individuals feeling disconnected from their physical and emotional bodies. While the etiology of sexual disorders is often multi-faceted and complex, psychological, physiological, relationship, and cultural components can often play a role in their development and maintenance. Treatment approaches can vary depending on the complexity of the disorder, but often include cognitive-behavioral therapy, relationship-based interventions, and/or pharmacological support. It is important to note that sexual disorders are highly treatable and individuals can recover a sense of well-being and connection when given the proper support.
