-5 The DSM-5 is an official manual used by clinicians and psychiatrists to diagnose mental health disorders. Within the DSM-5, physical and psychological sexual disorders are classified under the category of sexual dysfunctions. These disorders involve difficulty with the normal functioning of an individual's sexual organs and/or psychological or emotional components of sexual behavior.
