Overview
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common virus that affects both men and women. It can cause warts on the skin in some people and can also lead to certain types of cancer, such as cervical cancer, in others. It is spread through skin-to-skin contact and is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections. Vaccination is the best way to protect against HPV and reduce the risk of developing certain cancers. Regular screening can help detect HPV-related cancers and diseases early, leading to better treatment outcomes.
