Overview

(STIs) Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are on the rise due to a variety of factors such as the overuse of antibiotics, lack of knowledge about safer sexual practices, and the emergence of drug-resistant strains. Drug-resistant STIs are an emerging public health concern as they do not respond to the usual treatment approaches and can cause long-term complications. Though most STIs can be effectively treated with antibiotics, drug-resistant infections may require more intensive treatment, making them difficult and expensive to manage. Therefore, it is important to practice safer sex, get tested regularly, and seek medical attention if any symptoms of an STI are present. By doing so, the risk of infection and the spread of drug-resistant STIs can be reduced.
