Overview

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that has been used to successfully treat many mental health conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and substance abuse. It is a cognitive-behavioral treatment approach, combining cognitive behavior techniques with responses from Eastern philosophy. It focuses on helping individuals improve their ability to manage distress and regulate emotions, by teaching skills such as mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. DBT has been recognized for its effectiveness in the treatment of various mental health issues, and is increasingly being used in mental health settings across the globe.
