Overview
Public health and epidemiology occupational and industrial medicine is an interdisciplinary field of study that examines the health and safety of workers in the workplace. Through research, innovation and evidence-based practice, occupational and industrial medicine studies how work-related environments, conditions, and activities impact the wellbeing and safety of individuals. This research can inform policies and regulations that promote a healthier, safer, and more productive workplace. Occupational and industrial medicine also helps to create and implement effective prevention and early intervention strategies for work-related illnesses and injuries. By studying the health of workers, occupational and industrial medicine works to reduce the risk of disabling illness and injury in the workplace.
