Overview
Environmental health training teaches professionals and community members about the factors in the environment that can affect human health. Training is essential for those in the fields of public health, health care, and environmental health to understand and respond to risks associated with air, water, soil, and food quality; chemical and radiation hazards; and waste management. Environmental health training educates participants on the prevention, recognition, and management of health problems associated with environmental factors, and helps inform decisions regarding public health and environmental policies. It is also important for developing a sense of environmental stewardship and environmental justice.
