Nutrition Assessment

Overview

Nutrition assessment is the systematic evaluation of an individual's or population's dietary intake, nutritional status, and related health indicators to identify malnutrition, deficiencies, or dietary inadequacies. Research published in the International Journal of Nutrition addresses diverse methodological and applied dimensions of this field, spanning technological innovations, vulnerable populations, and clinical contexts. Studies have examined novel assessment tools including smartphone applications for dietary tracking and hand grip strength measurements as potential nutritional indicators in long-term care settings.
