Magnetic Resonance Imaging
(MRI). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive imaging technique used to produce detailed 3-dimensional images of the human body. It uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to create signals that are detected by a computer and transformed into images. MRI is used to diagnose and monitor a wide range of medical conditions and injuries including traumatic brain injury, cancer, heart disease, and multiple sclerosis. By providing detailed, accurate images of the body, MRI allows doctors to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions and injuries more quickly and accurately. Furthermore, MRI is considered to be a safe imaging technology, as it does not involve exposure to radiation.
