Neonatal Screening
Neonatal screening is a medical procedure used to detect potential medical conditions or diseases in a newborn baby soon after birth. These tests help identify serious illnesses or developmental disorders that may not be apparent at birth and can provide early diagnosis and treatment when successful. Early detection and treatment of medical conditions has been shown to improve outcomes and quality of life for affected children. Neonatal screening tests may include metabolic and genetic tests, hearing tests, or tests to check for congenital heart conditions.
