Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive and long-term damage to the kidneys. It is characterized by a decrease in kidney function over a period of months to years, caused by many different diseases and conditions. CKD is a significant public health concern, as it is linked to a greater risk of cardiovascular diseases, hospitalization and death. CKD can be managed with lifestyle changes, medications and dialysis treatments, depending on the severity of the condition. Early detection and diagnosis of CKD can help improve management, outcomes and patient quality of life.
