Central Nervous System
The central nervous system (CNS) is a key organ system responsible for regulating and integrating the activities of nearly all of the other organ systems. It is comprised of the brain and the spinal cord, both of which are vital for responding to internal and external stimuli. The CNS is involved in numerous functions including thought, memory, behavior, movement, touch, and coordination. It is also responsible for generating and controlling emotions, as well as providing sensory information to other parts of the body. Through its ability to regulate and integrate the body’s functions, the CNS plays a major role in human health and well-being.
