Atherosclerosis

Atherosclerosis is a condition in which the arteries become hardened and narrowed due to the buildup of plaque in their walls. It is a major cause of heart disease and stroke, and can lead to other serious problems such as aneurysm and peripheral artery disease. Early detection and treatment of atherosclerosis is important to help prevent further complications and reduce the risk of death. Treatment for atherosclerosis can include lifestyle changes, medications, and medical procedures such as angioplasty or bypass surgery.
