Patient care and management is the comprehensive process of overseeing the physical and mental health of a patient. It covers all aspects from prevention, through diagnosis and treatment, to rehabilitation and care. It also encompasses ongoing monitoring, follow-up treatment, and support for patients and their families. It is an essential component of healthcare as it enables the delivery of high-quality care, focused on the individual’s needs. Patient care and management requires an understanding of the patient, the disease, and its treatment, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with the patient and their family. Patients need to be able to access quality care and receive timely, appropriate treatment. Effective patient care and management is key to improving patient outcomes and health outcomes in the short and long-term.
