General Practitioner
A general practitioner (GP) is a doctor who provides primary care services to patients, focusing on their physical and mental health. GP's diagnose, treat and manage a variety of medical conditions, monitor a patient’s health, provide preventative care and educate patients on health maintenance. GP's typically serve as the first point of contact for patients, referring them to specialists when necessary. GP's are important in providing holistic, comprehensive and continuing health care to their patients and play an essential role in the health care system.
