Lipids

Lipids are a group of molecules that represent an important part of the human body. They are composed of fatty acids and can serve both as energy sources and as structural components of cells. Lipids play an important role in several metabolic and cellular processes. They are crucial for maintaining the integrity of cell membranes and cellular communication. They also contribute to energy storage, transmit signals between cells, and transport fat-soluble vitamins throughout the body. Lipids also have a role in the defence against disease, and have been linked to various health benefits, such as reducing the risk of heart disease. In addition, they are important for the proper functioning of the skin, hair and nails.
