Lipid Polymers

Lipid polymers are organic molecules that are composed of long chain fatty acids or lipid monomers. Their significance lies in the fact that they have applications in various fields such as drug delivery, gene and drug therapy, cosmetic materials, and food preservatives. Furthermore, they are gaining importance as alternative bio-based materials due to their biodegradability, low toxicity, and low environmental impact. Lipid polymers are used in biomedicine to create targeted drug delivery systems, biopolymeric scaffolds, and tissue engineering materials. They also have potential applications as bio-based materials in food packaging, cosmetics, and construction.
