Atherosclerosis

Atherosclerosis is a condition in which arteries become narrow and hardened due to the accumulation of cholesterol and other waste products on their inner walls. It is a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke, the two leading causes of death in the world. Atherosclerosis can be prevented by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a well-balanced diet, regular exercise, and avoiding smoking. Treatment involves lifestyle changes, medications, and interventions such as angioplasty or bypass surgery. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for preventing serious complications.
