Lupus Erythematosus
Lupus erythematosus (LE) is a chronic, autoimmune disorder that can cause inflammation, pain, and tissue damage throughout the body. It affects many different organs, including the skin, heart, lungs, joints, and kidneys. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and can be unpredictable. LE can cause a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms, making it difficult to diagnose and even harder to manage. With proper diagnosis and treatment, people with LE can lead normal lives. Treatment includes medications, lifestyle changes, physical therapy, and support groups. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for helping people manage the symptoms of LE and avoiding serious complications.
