Yeast Infections
Yeast infections, also known as Candida infections, are caused by the overgrowth of a species of yeast called Candida albicans. These infections most commonly occur in the vagina or mouth, though they can also affect the skin and other parts of the body. Yeast infections can cause a range of symptoms, such as itching, burning, and soreness in the affected area. In some cases, a white or yellow discharge may also be present. Left untreated, yeast infections can lead to long-term health issues and even serious illnesses. Treatment includes antifungal medications and lifestyle modifications, such as avoiding wearing tight, synthetic clothing, avoiding douching, and eating a balanced diet. By understanding the symptoms and getting prompt and proper treatment, yeast infections can be managed and prevented.
