Trichophyton

rubrum Trichophyton rubrum is a type of fungus belonging to the Dermatophyte group. It is a common cause of skin, hair, and nail infections. Causes of infection include direct contact with infected persons or animals, contact with contaminated surfaces and objects, and direct contact with infected soil. Symptoms include scaling, itching, and cracking of the skin, as well as yellow or brown discoloration and thickening of the nails. If left untreated, it can lead to more serious complications such as cellulitis and systemic infections. Treatment includes topical and oral antifungal medications, as well as maintenance of good hygiene. Trichophyton rubrum is an important cause of fungal skin infections and can potentially be a serious health risk if left untreated.
