Practices and Awareness of Infection Control
Infection control is a set of practices and procedures used to reduce the risk of spreading health-threatening infections, such as those caused by bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It is essential to maintain the safety of medical and dental staff, as well as patients, by preventing the spread of infectious diseases in healthcare settings. Infection control protocols include proper handwashing, using personal protective equipment, sterilizing or disinfecting medical instruments and equipment, and the appropriate disposal of contaminated materials. The awareness and practice of infection control is important in all healthcare settings, as it helps protect healthcare workers and patients from potential infections, reduces the incidence of healthcare-associated infections, and improves patient outcomes.
