Overview
albicans Candida albicans is a type of yeast commonly found in the environment. It is a major cause of fungal infections, such as thrush and vaginitis, in humans. Candida albicans can also cause severe and life-threatening infections, such as blood and urinary tract infections and systemic candidiasis. Treatment for Candida albicans infections includes antifungal medications, such as amphotericin B and fluconazole. It is important to diagnose infections caused by Candida albicans as early as possible in order to improve chances of successful treatment and reduce the risk of complications.
