Tissue Architecture
Tissue architecture is the arrangement of cells, proteins, and other components in biological tissues. It plays a crucial role in the function of tissues by providing structural and mechanical support, influencing interaction between cells, and acting as an interface between intracellular and extracellular molecules. In order to understand the normal functioning of organs, as well as to detect, diagnose, and treat diseases, knowledge of tissue architecture is essential. A better understanding of tissue architecture may yield insight into the etiology and progression of many diseases, and further improve our understanding of development and aging.
