Salivary Gland Tumors

Salivary gland tumors are a type of tumor which develops within the salivary glands, the glands located within the mouth that produce saliva. Salivary gland tumors can be benign or malignant, and range in severity. Symptoms may include a lump in the cheek or jaw, difficulty swallowing, or pain when moving the mouth or jaw. Diagnosis is made through physical examination and imaging tests, and treatment often requires a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation.
