Renal Physiology
Renal physiology is the study of the structure, function and regulation of the kidneys, which are integral organs in the body's overall health and wellbeing. These organs play a key role in the body’s vital processes such as water balance, acid-base balance, electrolyte balance, and the excretion of waste products. Renal physiology is therefore essential to understand in order to diagnose and treat any abnormalities or diseases related to kidney function. Renal physiology research can provide insights into the prevention and treatment of kidney disease, which is an increasingly widespread and debilitating health issue in many parts of the world.
