Human Digestive System
The human digestive system is an integral and complex part of the human body that is responsible for breaking down food molecules and absorbing nutrients. It is made up of a network of organs and glands that work together to process food and extract the vital nutrients our body needs to survive. In addition to breaking down food into its component nutrients, the digestive system helps fight disease, as many of its organs form part of the body's first line of defense against harmful bacteria and viruses. Its health and functioning are critical for overall wellbeing and proper functioning of the body. The digestive system is essential for providing the nutrients needed to help maintain strong bones, muscles and organs.
