Congestive Heart Failure
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a condition in which the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body's demands. It can be caused by a variety of factors including coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and valve disease. The symptoms of CHF vary but can include shortness of breath, fatigue, and swelling in the legs or ankles. CHF is a significant public health problem, affecting millions of people around the world and causing considerable mortality rates. Treatment of CHF involves lifestyle changes, such as changes in diet and exercise, as well as medications to improve heart function and reduce fluid buildup in the body. Early diagnosis of CHF is important in reducing the risk of further disease progression and improving patient outcomes.
