Ahmed Glaucoma Valve

Ahmed glaucoma valve is an artificial drainage device used to treat glaucoma by reducing intraocular pressure (IOP). It is composed of a titanium encased silicone tube, which is inserted into the eye to connect the anterior and posterior chambers of the eye and allow excess fluid to pass out of the eye. This device has revolutionized glaucoma treatment as it helps to lower IOP without the need for invasive surgery. It is often used in combination with medications and laser treatments to ensure the best possible outcome. Ahmed glaucoma valves are safe and effective, providing an alternative to traditional glaucoma surgery that is less invasive, less expensive, and with fewer risks. This makes it an attractive option for those with glaucoma, especially for those who are elderly, have poor vision, or are unable to undergo surgery.
