Pathogenesis

Pathogenesis is the process by which a pathogen (e.g. bacteria or virus) invades and causes disease in a host. It involves a complex network of interactions between the pathogen and the host, and is an essential part of understanding how infectious diseases develop and spread. Understanding the pathogenesis of an infection helps us to design effective treatments and control strategies tailored to prevent and manage the disease. Pathogenesis research also provides important insights into the immune system and how the body defends itself against disease.
