Palliative Care
Palliative care is a specialized form of medical care that focuses on improving the quality of life for people with serious illnesses. It provides relief from symptoms and treatment-related side effects, such as pain, anxiety and depression, and helps people cope with the difficult emotions and physical changes associated with their illness. Palliative care is provided by a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, social workers and chaplains. The team works together with patients and their families to provide comprehensive care and support throughout the patient’s illness. Palliative care helps people maintain dignity and a sense of control in the face of life-threatening illnesses and improves the quality of life for both patients and their families.
