Urban Entomology
Urban entomology is the scientific study of insects and other arthropods that inhabit urban environments, including homes, gardens, parks, and other urban areas. This field of entomology is important as it focuses on the insects and arthropods that can directly affect the health and wellbeing of urban populations. Urban entomology investigates the impact of human activities on the ecology of urban insects and arthropods, as well as the potential of these insects and arthropods to spread diseases and cause damage to buildings and other structures. In addition, urban entomology studies the use of integrated pest management techniques to minimize the impact of insects and arthropods in urban settings, as well as how to use entomology research to inform public health policy.
