Biography
Nikos Papadopoulos is a Professor at the University of Thessaly, Volos, Magnisia, Greece, with over 53 indexed publications focusing on the behavioral ecology, population dynamics, and management of tephritid fruit flies. His research has examined seasonal occurrence patterns, mating competitiveness, aging and longevity predictors, and spatial-temporal population dynamics of economically important species such as the Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata). His most-cited work, "Tephritid Fruit Fly Semiochemicals: Current Knowledge and Future Perspectives" (2021), has received 94 citations and reflects his sustained contributions to understanding chemical ecology and semiochemical applications in fruit fly control. Professor Papadopoulos has served in editorial roles for PLOS ONE, Frontiers in Population Dynamics, and special issues of the Journal of Applied Entomology and Psyche, and has held consultancy positions with international organizations including the OECD, IOBC, and governmental agencies in Western Australia and Japan.
