Forest Entomology

Forest entomology is the study of insects and other arthropods that are associated with forests. Forest entomology studies the ecology, biology, and management of insects in forest ecosystems and their relationships with other organisms, such as plants and fungi. The research includes pest management, forest health conservation, and the understanding of their impacts on forest ecosystems. It helps develop methods to improve the ecological balance of forest ecosystems and sustainably manage pests in managed forests. Forest entomology is essential for understanding the interactions between forests and their associated insects. It also plays a role in the conservation of biodiversity, helping to maintain the ecological balance of different forest systems.
