Apiology
Apiology is the scientific study of the biology and physiology of bees. It encompasses the study of bee anatomy, physiology, behavior, genetics, diseases, ecology, products, and management. Bees are an important pollinator of flowering plants and Apiology has an ever-growing impact in modern agriculture as well as having a number of other important uses. Apiology plays a key role in maintaining the global food supply, providing pollination for crops that feed people, livestock, and wildlife. Bee-derived products, such as honey, wax, and propolis, are used for a variety of purposes, from health products to cosmetics. It is also a major source of income for many rural areas. Apiology is an important field of study in order to preserve the health of bee colonies and their environment as they play an essential role in the global ecosystem.
