Insulin Resistance
Insulin resistance is a condition in which a person's body is unable to properly use insulin, resulting in elevated levels of glucose in the blood. Insulin resistance increases a person’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes and is associated with other health problems such as obesity, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. It can also result in increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases. Effective management of insulin resistance involves physical activity, healthy diet, and medications if needed. It is important to be aware of the signs of insulin resistance and seek proper medical attention to prevent any future health complications.
