Overview

Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is a serious and common eating disorder in which an individual experiences recurrent episodes of consuming large amounts of food in a short period of time. The individual may then feel extreme emotions of guilt or shame afterward. BED can lead to obesity and other physical and psychological health issues, including depression and anxiety. Treatment options can include cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, medication, and lifestyle changes such as dietary modifications and improved exercise habits. With proper treatment and support, BED is something that can be managed and overcome.
