Covid Variant Symptoms
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused a worldwide pandemic since its emergence in December 2019. With time, the virus has undergone several mutations, leading to the emergence of different strains or variants. The symptoms of the original COVID-19 variant included fever, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, body aches, loss of smell or taste sense, sore throat, headache, and chills. However, as the virus mutated, these symptoms also changed. Currently, some of the common symptoms of some COVID variants include mild flu-like symptoms like fever, cough, fatigue, and body ache. Moreover, there are reports of some new symptoms like diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. The Delta variant, which is highly infectious, has been reported in several countries. The Delta variant's symptoms include headache, fever, sore throat, loss of appetite, and a runny nose. However, in some cases, people infected with Delta variant are experiencing severe symptoms like difficulty breathing, chest pain or pressure, and loss of speech or movement. Another problematic variant is the Lambda variant, which is highly contagious and was first detected in Peru. The variant's symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, sore throat, and muscle aches. Researchers are still studying the Lambda variant's characteristics and its transmission pattern. In conclusion, the symptoms of COVID-19 variants keep changing as the virus continues to evolve. It is important to stay up-to-date with the latest information on symptoms and get tested if you experience any flu-like symptoms.
