Ubiquitination
Ubiquitination is a process that involves the covalent attachment of one or more ubiquitin molecules to a target protein. It is an important post-translational modification of proteins that plays a key role in many cellular pathways, including the regulation of protein stability, protein-protein interactions and the regulation of DNA replication and transcription. Ubiquitination is also involved in the regulation of the immune response, cell cycle and apoptosis. Its importance in the regulation of cellular activities makes it a key target for a wide range of diseases, including cancer. Additionally, it is a focus of current drug development research.
