Receptor-ligand Interactions
Receptor-ligand interactions are interactions between proteins or proteins and molecules which bind together to form a complex. These interactions are responsible for the communication between cells, organs and the environment. They enable cells to recognize and respond to specific stimuli, form and stabilize organelles, and mediate a variety of essential cellular processes. Receptor-ligand interactions play a critical role in biological processes such as metabolism, immunity, and cell signaling, as well as in diseases such as cancer and autoimmune diseases. As a result, these interactions are of immense medical, pharmaceutical, and industrial importance in the development of drugs and treatments for a variety of diseases and conditions.
