Prokaryotic Models

Prokaryotic models are organisms that have been chosen and studied by scientists to illustrate the fundamental features of cellular life, particularly the features of prokaryotic cells. They are a valuable tool for furthering our understanding of the physical, chemical, and biological processes of life. Prokaryotic models help us to better understand the functions and interactions of many proteins and other molecules, and to identify and characterize new molecules. Prokaryotes, being the most abundant form of microorganism on Earth, also play essential roles in the environment, such as cycling of essential elements, degrading pollutants, and aiding in climate regulation. By studying the processes of prokaryotic models, we are better able to understand the influence of the environment on the microbial world and its implications for a variety of human activities.
