Chemotaxis Assay
Chemotaxis assays are laboratory tests used to measure the movement of cells in response to a chemical signal. The assays measure the cell’s response to attractants or repellents, and how that response can be modulated. This is important in many fields of study including the understanding of cancer cell invasion and the regulation of macrophages involved in immunity. Additionally, chemotaxis assays are often used in drug discovery, to identify new compounds with anti-inflammatory or anti-tumor effects. The data obtained from chemotaxis assays can be used to inform further studies focused on therapeutic interventions.
