Overview
Barrett's esophagus is a condition that is caused by the abnormal changes of cells lining the lower part of the esophagus. It is usually caused by chronic acid reflux and can increase the risk of developing esophageal cancer. Early diagnosis of Barrett's esophagus can lead to earlier treatment, thus reducing the risks associated with it. Treatment for Barrett's esophagus may include lifestyle changes, medications, and endoscopic procedures. Proper management of Barrett's esophagus can help reduce the risk of developing esophageal cancer and other complications.
